Pomme de Terre Lake,

located between Hermitage and Pittsburg Missouri was created in 1961 as a means to control the flooding of the Missouri River Basin. Pomme de Terre Lake offers 113 miles of shoreline for camping, hiking, and outdoor recreation. The closest metro city to Pomme de Terre lake is Springfield, Missouri (located 50 miles south of Pom de Terre lake).

Pomme de Terre lake offers over 650 campsites in addition to two public beaches.
